Peace is not something you wish for
Painting By - Manoj kumar
Why is peace important?
Peace is not something you wish for; It’s something you make, Something you do, Something you are, And something you give away. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.
Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways. Love is the vital essence that pervades and permeates, from the center to the circumference, the graduating circles of all thought and action. Love is the talisman of human weal and woe – the open sesame to every soul.
It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. End each day with thoughts of Peace Begin each day with thoughts of Peace Continue thinking thoughts of Peace throughout your precious day and happiness will be yours.
Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love. May Peace dreamers And peace-lovers Occupy the length and breadth Of the world.
Feelings
Does peace mean love?
We are busy people. The daily pressures of work, children, finances and chores can be overwhelming, leaving us anxious, frustrated and even depressed. To soothe our negative feelings, we may turn to shopping, drinking too much, have bouts of anger or take on any other bad habit. Can we possibly find Peace in life’s chaos? We can and it starts by first recognizing how stressed we really are and the affect it’s having on our mental and physical well-being. Then, with this awareness, we can find ways to bring more calm into our lives. Some simple ways include meditating, listening to music, getting a massage, enjoying a cup of hot tea or coffee, watching a sunset, taking a walk. Any activity that makes us happy and feel more relaxed helps bring Peace in the moment.
Being relaxed, at peace with yourself, confident, emotionally neutral loose, and free-floating – these are the keys to successful performance in almost everything. To replace the old paradigm of war with a new paradigm of waging peace, we must be pioneers who can push the boundaries of human understanding. We must be doctors who can cure the virus of violence. We must be soldiers of peace who can do more than preach to the choir. And we must be artists who will make the world our masterpiece.
Understandings
What peace means to you?
We can ready ourselves with inspirational readings, enlightened teachers and spiritual practices. It is the application of these understandings in the self-examination of our own consciousness that leads us to a greater awareness-and a sense of inner Peace This is what has been called The Great Work.
The good news is that we do not have to experience and walk through the “Dark Night of the Soul” over and over again to expand our consciousness. Sudden awakenings or Satori are common when we allow ourselves to have a calm peaceful mind or when we are deeply inspired by beauty, music, or nature. A spiritual experience happens when our conscious limitations are set aside, even temporarily by an intense focus on inspirational ideas and events.
It is a common understanding that pain, sorrow and suffering is the doorway to an enlightened soul and many speak of a “broken-open” heart that leads to love. This is a common experience. It is true that pain and suffering can be a catalyst to experience something greater. It is in this desperation of one’s “Dark Night of the Soul” that can we finally start to release the constraining thoughts and beliefs that have been limiting us.
Truth
Painting By - Manoj kumar
What is the true meaning of peace?
Truth is revealed to those who are ready to receive and embody it. Truth is revealed to most of us in steps or small awakenings or what is called Satori(s). What is revealed is in exact proportion as to what we are ready to receive in consciousness.
We are not open and ready to receive when our mind is blocked with false beliefs such as superstition, fear, religiosity, social conditioning, dogma, a sense of separation, etc. It is our spiritual task to consciously endeavor to examine and release all of the limitations in our mind and be open to receive. The stream of awareness cannot flow through a clogged vessel.

Buddha
What is peace in religion?
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. The mind is everything. What you think you become. We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves. No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path. There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting. There is nothing so disobedient as an undisciplined mind, and there is nothing so obedient as a disciplined mind. The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows. You cannot travel the path until you have become the path itself. Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.
